Following the success of our advanced CCTV based training aid in the Endoscopy Unit at the University Hospital of North Tees. 2020 Vision have been commissioned to provide a similar Audio Visual based training solution for The James Cook Hospital.

The leading edge system consists of a functional pan, tilt and zoom dome camera to provide general and close up views of procedures, along with real time live video feeds from the endoscope, scope guide and x-ray machine. Enabling clinical staff to observe and follow procedures on two 32″ and a 42″ high definition TFT monitors from a remote teaching room.

All camera images are recorded at 25 frames per second, with a file size of up to 30Kb onto a digital recording system for subsequent review. The recorder is network compatible and can be connected to the hospital network allowing authorised users access to both live and previously recorded footage at any time.

The visual system, which is installed in three Endoscopy rooms, is supplemented with an integrated hands free audio capability, which allows persons in the training room to converse with staff in any of the three rooms.

The leading edge system provides a vital role in teaching the future generation of Doctors and Nurses at the hospital.

Peter Houlis 2020 Vision Managing Director said:

“The system implemented at North Tees Hospital has proven to be a great success and its extremely rewarding to be recommended to implement a similar project into the James Cook Hospital. It is gratifying to be able to supply systems beyond the normal remit of security. More and more we are implementing systems to provide clients with real time management information.”
