North East-based CCTV integrator 2020 Vision Systems, in partnership with Veracity UK and Instek Digital, is pleased to announce the availability of an integrated mega-pixel video surveillance solution.

In order to have a first-rate security system that misses nothing and offers excellent evidential material, it is vital to have image quality of the highest order. 2020’s mega-pixel surveillance range meets this challenge, and provides a quantum-leap in image quality when compared with regular CCTV.

Consulting Engineers Cundall chose 2020 as their security partner to help provide just such a system for the new Excelsior Academy currently being built in the West End of Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Excelsior Academy, which is due to open in September 2008, is Newcastle’s first Academy School and will play a major role in the regeneration of the West End of the city.

Security at the Academy will be of paramount importance. Not only does it have the provision of a safe and secure educational environment as one of its key objectives, but it will also boast high-quality information and communications technology (ICT) facilities with high-specification ICT equipment throughout. The need for effective security is obvious.

2020 Vision turned to Veracity UK for the necessary hardware. Peter Houlis, MD of 2020 Vision, said: “We have a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Veracity, so they were the ideal partner to provide us with the digital technology for the Academy project.”

Veracity UK is a leading-edge technology company dedicated to developing innovative solutions for mega-pixel video surveillance and to bringing the best in ‘state of the art’ enterprise-level digital video surveillance products to the UK market, including the highly acclaimed MatriVideo digital video recording and management solutions from Instek Digital, with whom Veracity work closely.

Alastair McLeod, MD of Veracity, explains: “The MatriVideo system is a complete virtual matrix and digital storage solution compatible with both analogue, digital and hybrid CCTV systems including mega-pixel cameras. It is a perfect fit for the security objectives of the Academy. As picture quality was of paramount importance to the client, the use of mega-pixel cameras was a natural solution, as we had such a powerful digital platform to build upon.”

2020 look forward to assisting the Academy with its worthy goal of transforming the futures of its students for many years to come.
