As a fervent believer in the Register of Chartered Security Professionals I am both proud and delighted to represent the Security Institute on Chartered Security Professionals Registration Authority (CSPRA).
The Security Institute is the the UK’s largest professional membership body for security professionals. For 15 years, they have been working to promote the highest possible standards of integrity and professional competence in the business of security. The CPSRA is the management committee established to oversee the development of the Register, both now and in the future.
The Worshipful Company of Security Professionals and the Security Institute have developed a register for security professionals as a means of recognising and maintaining high standards and ongoing proficiency for individuals. The Register is called the Register of Chartered Security Professionals with a member of the Register (the Registrant), known as a Chartered Security Professional, using CSyP as a post nominal.
In my role as the Security Institute representative on the CSPRA, my duties will range from preparing proposals for consideration by CSPRA for the continuing development and management of the Register, considering budgetary requirements and ensuring marketing activity is undertaken. I will also investigate any brand and/or disciplinary issues alongside reporting on the achievement of overall targets.
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity and I am looking forward to assisting the CSPRA in their work.
