New recruit at North Shields based CCTV systems integrator

A North Shields-based CCTV systems integrator is once again bucking the trend, by appointing another engineer to help bolster the company’s offering.

2020 Vision has appointed Wayne Johnston, from Killingworth, in a move to boost the number of engineers at the North East office to 18 and the number of employees within the company to over 30.

Wayne 29, has joined the security specialist as an installation and service engineer and is already getting to grips with work on the new Bede Academy School in Blyth.

He brings with him over 12 years experience in the security industry, having held engineering posts at a host of security firms across the region. Over the years Wayne has worked on a number of high profile projects including Durham University and Newcastle’s Excelsior Academy School.

Wayne, who is married to Joanne, is currently tasked with aiding the installation and implementation of a £250,000 at the new build school. The system consists of an internal and external CCTV system using latest generation mega pixel cameras in high risk areas, which will be integrated into a site wide access control system and intruder alarm.

Wayne, is already impressed with the ‘customer is king’ ethos at 2020 Vision, he commented:

“2020 Vision is a very well run company; the focus is 100% on the customer and that’s something which I really agree with. I’m still finding my feet within the business but I’m looking forward to growing with the company and bringing what I can to the role.”

As well as working on the Bede Academy project, Wayne will also be responsible for ensuring future client projects are delivered on time, within budget and safely, and that clients receive first class treatment, through both the installation and after-sales support.

Peter Houlis, managing director of 2020 Vision, said: “Wayne is a very talented individual, but more than anything it was his can-do attitude which really impressed us. You can certainly teach the skills and requirements for a role but it’s very difficult to (you certainly can’t) change someone’s attitude and approach to work. Wayne is fitting in perfectly with the ethos here at 2020 Vision.”

2020 Vision, which recently announced that it has secured over £2million in other security contracts, is looking forward to developing further in 2009. Peter concluded: “On the back of our recent contract wins we are also actively looking to recruit an experienced engineer to work from out M62 office as well as an additional salesengineer for that office.”
